Monroe Title Insurance Corporation announced today operating results for the year 2000.
Revenues for the year 2000, including investment earnings, totaled $17,973,499. Net income for 2000 was $947,804 or $ .84 per share.
In making the announcement, Monroe's President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas P. Moonan said "We are very pleased with the results for the year 2000. These results were accomplished during a year of ever increasing interest rates and within a period of a continued decrease in economic activity. We are most appreciative of our fine group of talented employees who put forth the effort needed to make this happen. These efforts, together with the astute management of Monroe's invested assets, made our year 2000 as successful as it was.
As we progress into the new year 2001, we are cautiously optimistic as we experienced the decline in interest rates in January, 2001 and read reports of likely further declines during the balance of the year."
